Geek Gamer Radio Episode 004 – There’s a geek for that!

episode004

Click the picture to head over to the site to take a listen, or just search for it on iTunes. And bear in mind that they do the show live on Sunday nights at 9PM PST (11PM central) and in the future you may or may not hear me -your favorite blogger- on there from time to time. I may just end up sitting there nodding my head though because that’s something I’m good at.

Geek Gamer Radio Episode 3 – Take Two

episode003

After a bit of a computer problem Sunday night, here’s episode three. You can either get it by clicking the image above, or just by searching for it on iTunes. Being that I was still asleep for most of the show due to being sick, I’m going to be listening to it in the car tonight. :)

Yeah, unfortunately, unless I’m near death I still have to work. It’s always fun.

Control F12 episode 90 – Final Edition

controlf12final

That’s right. It’s the final episode of the Control F12 podcast. You can either hit it up on iTunes, or listen to it right here. But … a new one will take it’s place called Geek Gamer Radio. Here’s a word about it from Chase, the main host :

Hey Everyone,

I would like to personally welcome you to our new netcast on the interwebs called “geek.gamer.radio”, the show all you geeks and gamers in the world.   We know there are A LOT of people out there who like to chat and talk about their favorite gadget, or game they just beat, and they have a bazillion years of experience in doing it.  They could be biased, getting paid off, or really not giving a clear thought of what they are talking about.

The purpose of this site and show is to bring to you, “the geek and/or gamer” an unbiased, fresh look at everything we love.  We have no previous experience other then starting to game and love technology when we were little.  Were just fellow peeps who have gotten tired of OTHER people tell us what is cool and not cool.  Well, no more.

Personally, we do this for you….to share with us our love of geeking out and gaming it up….and that is why this is here.

If you are a former listener of Control F12 or Hoser Chat, we would like to personally welcome you as well.  We know we had faithful listeners of those shows and I personally know that it is hard to make changes, but we have a lot more in store then what we had on the old shows.

Well, enough talking…..time to get started.

The first show will not be for a while as we are getting the site ready, adding new features, and making finishing touches.  In the mean time, please leave us a comment below, tell US what you would like to see, hear and read.

Till the first show,

Chase

And to end the very last show, some people who were in the chat got ahold of tokens for the XBLA game Zombie Apocalypse and the Xbox Live Indie Games IncaBlocks, Halfbrick Rocket Racing, Halfbrick Blastoff, Halfbrick Echoes and Echoes+ thanks to yours truly. Hit the jump for something that may interest you.

Control F12 episode 89 - Giggles

episode89full

Go get it here, apparently they had someone a little different this week in that they finally had a female voice on the show. :P Alternatively, you can also get it from the iTunes Music Store (which is what I'm doing right now to listen to in the car tonight).

And they're also running a contest where you can pick up Time Pilot and Frogger for the Xbox 360 along with a 48 hour Xbox Live Trial. You can get more info about that here.

So yeah. Go and listen.

What podcasts do you listen to or watch?

Fairly recently, I think maybe sometime in November of 2008, I finally got on the bandwagon and got a 5th generation 30GB iPod, mostly from dong the math with the usual cheapie MP3 players I usually got and determined that this was the better deal compared to the little 1 and 2GB players. Anyway, when I got it, I already had a ton of music to stick on it which was fine. But I started looking around on the iTunes Music Store for other stuff to listen to, and being that I'm a cheap/poor bastard I immediately started getting sucked into podcasts. Being that I deliver papers during the night, I'm in the car for about 3 to 3 and a half hours a night, so I have lots of time to listen to them.

Podcast Review - RetrofoceGo!

The reason I'm writing this because out of all the podcasts I listen to, this is by far my favorite. I didn't even get an iPod until fairly recently, like, under 6 months. I got a 30GB 5th generation iPod. When I downloaded iTunes, I'd HEARD of podcasts, but I didn't really know what they were. I downloaded a few and listened to them, then I started searching for ones about subjects that I cared about, hoping to find something. And I came across RetroforceGo! one night, and have actually gone through and listened to almost every single back episode because, with the exception of one, I love all the content.

Hosted by the constantly upbeat and positive Chad Concelmo, the quiet, monotone SHMUP master Topher Cantler, the beautiful and outspoken Colette Bennett who, unfotunately, has to play all those god awful horrible WiiWare games ... Anthony Birch who in the early days of the podcast had this awesome rant he did about whatever was pissing him off that week. Now he does a gamer dictionary for the show, which I don't think is anywhere near as good. Although it is still pretty funny to hear what people manage to come up with. Dyson, who is the overall host of the show most of the time. And finally a fan of the show who sent the hosts gifts just out of being a fan has become a regular on the show ... who is quite possibly one of t few people I wouldn't challenge to a match in any fighting game. They've had a few guest people on such as the British foulmouth Jim Sterling, who ... personally is my favorite. He manages to keep that thin line of being extremely foul mouthed (almost as bad as me) and is still able to word things very well, which is important for a writer and podcaster.
