The Earthworm Jim Collection released on Steam, but skip it.
You can now snag Earthworm Jim 1, 2 and the terrible 3D game off of Steam for $19.99. Which doesn't sound like a bad deal at all for such great games (well, the first two anyway).
Or, you can head over to Good Old Games, snag Earthworm Jim 1 & 2 with the in game soundtracks for BOTH, the manual, wallpapers, avatars, a guide and more for $5.99.
And if you really want Earthworm Jim 3D, that's there too for $5.99 and again, comes with the in game soundtrack, the manual, wallpapers etc.
I think the choice is obvious.
- $11.98 on Good Old Games for the first two games because, let's face it. Earthworm Jim 3D sucked. And they come with tons of extra stuff. Or 17.97 for all three games and still have all that extra stuff.
- $19.99 on Steam for all three games and that's it.
Don't get me wrong, I love Steam. But if a better deal can be had elsewhere with more stuff, I'll go that route.
The Ghostbusters have apparently hired a soccer mom.
This was submitted to the People of Wal-Mart site (obviously considering the watermark check out the original post here). That’s actually a pretty damned cool minivan. It’s the first time I’ve ever actually willingly wanted to own one. Add some more sirens and other shit to it to make it over the top like the original Ecto-1 and it’ll be that much better. I would have never thought to do something like this … maybe that’s a good thing. :)
Maybe I should trick out my silver 1999 Chevrolet Metro Ghostbusters style sometime just to get the weird looks.
Wicked Quake Live frag video
Quake Live … not QUITE as good as it’s originator Quake 3 Arena (I miss slamming someone with a Rocket Launcher and seeing them explode in a cloud of blood.) but it’s free. So who am I to complain. Except that my favorite arena doesn’t run worth a damn on my netbook in Quake Live. Luckily it runs beautifully in the old reliable Quake 3 Arena. :) But yeah, check this video out.
Control F12 episode 90 – Final Edition
That’s right. It’s the final episode of the Control F12 podcast. You can either hit it up on iTunes, or listen to it right here. But … a new one will take it’s place called Geek Gamer Radio. Here’s a word about it from Chase, the main host :
Hey Everyone,
I would like to personally welcome you to our new netcast on the interwebs called “geek.gamer.radio”, the show all you geeks and gamers in the world. We know there are A LOT of people out there who like to chat and talk about their favorite gadget, or game they just beat, and they have a bazillion years of experience in doing it. They could be biased, getting paid off, or really not giving a clear thought of what they are talking about.
The purpose of this site and show is to bring to you, “the geek and/or gamer” an unbiased, fresh look at everything we love. We have no previous experience other then starting to game and love technology when we were little. Were just fellow peeps who have gotten tired of OTHER people tell us what is cool and not cool. Well, no more.
Personally, we do this for you….to share with us our love of geeking out and gaming it up….and that is why this is here.
If you are a former listener of Control F12 or Hoser Chat, we would like to personally welcome you as well. We know we had faithful listeners of those shows and I personally know that it is hard to make changes, but we have a lot more in store then what we had on the old shows.
Well, enough talking…..time to get started.
The first show will not be for a while as we are getting the site ready, adding new features, and making finishing touches. In the mean time, please leave us a comment below, tell US what you would like to see, hear and read.
Till the first show,
Chase
And to end the very last show, some people who were in the chat got ahold of tokens for the XBLA game Zombie Apocalypse and the Xbox Live Indie Games IncaBlocks, Halfbrick Rocket Racing, Halfbrick Blastoff, Halfbrick Echoes and Echoes+ thanks to yours truly. Hit the jump for something that may interest you.
Halloween Costume
I love you, Sega.
As both a smoker and a Sega fan, I highly endorse these. I am personally partial to the Sega Genesis one, but I want them both because the Saturn is awesome. I just wonder if it comes in black, because those are my memories of the Saturn. They run $114 apiece and one can start ordering them November 6th. They’re being sold in Japan, and a little more information can be found right here. Although it’s not in English of course.
God if I had one of these I probably wouldn’t even use them. I’d hang them on the wall. :) This almost … ALMOST makes up for the horrible HORRIBLE Sonic games they’re released lately.
Almost.
Unreal Tournament Vs Halo : You’ve Been Served
Yeah. That’s right bitches. Unreal Tournament forever. Halo’s got nothin’ on Unreal Tournament for me. Unreal Tournament = fun. Halo = slow paced crap with 10 year olds calling everyone every name in the book. Case closed.
We’re getting a real bullethell SHMUP in the Indie Games section soon … Duality : ZF
I don't usually do news posts like this in regards to the Indie Games ... I try to stick to the reviews (something I'm actually GOOD at hehe) but this game is pretty damned close to my interests. They placed 7th in the DreamBuild thing Microsoft does, 1 away from going to PAX ... and ... yeah. Just check out this video. This game looks like it's going to be WICKED hard and loads of fun.
Hit up the site here and get your learnin' on. If you haven't played a balls hard bullethell shooter ... you haven't lived.
Jonny Crush Strangeness
I stated in my review for the Xbox Live Indie Game Jonny Crush that something weird happened where I moved out of the stage and there were hundreds of bugs just STUCK there in front of that invisible wall moving toward me anyway. So here's the shots from that when it happened. Unfortunately, I don't have any neato hardware to take real screenshots, so I just pointed my camera phone at the TV and snapped the pictures. But you can still kinda make it out and it's a pretty cool sight. :) Click the pics for a bigger version of them, and use your browser's View Picture option to view the full size 1600x1200 picture.
Crazy alternate Full House intro
This is something I'm not quite fucked enough to have ever considered. :)
