Fucking campers.
I was digging around and found this, just thought I’d drop it off here. This kinda looks like something Paradox would arrange. I wonder if there are any local public LAN parties around here that play something other than slow paced boring first person shooters like Call of Duty and Halo. I know full and well my laptop can run Starcraft, Warcraft III, Unreal Tournament, Quake 3 Arena, etc etc. Arena shooters all the way. I guess I’ll have to find that out. Depending on what’s being played, you don’t need some monstrous system (though it would definitely help).
I’m old school. Give me Quake, DooM, Unreal Tournament and I’m a happy camper. No not that kind of camper … I’m not a pussy. Campers and whatnot may have their place in team based play, but in a free for all deathmatch it just means that they’re probably even worse at the game than I am. I don’t mind getting killed every 5 seconds in a shooter that is actually fun to play, so long as it’s not from some moron hiding in the corner of the map with a sniper rifle taking pot shots at people. Makes for easy kills though, I’ve gotta admit. Me trying out camping resulting in one of the few times I’ve ever gotten 1st place in a free for all in Unreal Tournament 3.
If only this laptop could run Left 4 Dead and I could find some people to play with who wouldn’t vote me out of the game after 5 minutes. Or find someone to play the game with who won’t just stand there and watch as I’m getting raped by a hunter. It kinda sucks sucking at games sometimes, especially in team based games. But I don’t have the patience or the time to sit there for hours on end learning the ins and outs of every single map, or learning the best strategies for whatever. God help me if I play Team Fortress 2.
