ASCIIpOrtal has been released.
A little while back I made a comment on an upcoming game called ASCII Portal. (Which the author spells ASCIIpOrtal. Seems cooler to me. hehe) Now, if you didn't guess, this is a fan made version of Valve's game Portal done in entirely ASCII graphics. Which I am a sucker for. You can view my original post about it here, or you can just go straight to the downloads for Mac, Windows and Linux at Cymons Games. Thanks to @retroremakes on Twitter for helping to let everyone know, and you can follow Cymons Games at @CymonsGames on Twitter if you feel so inclined.
Okay, this is just insane. Maze Frenzy.
This is just crazy Normally I hate flash games ... can't stand them. But then you come across something like this that is just fucking unreal. What you're not seeing in my screenshot here is that most of the stuff in the maze MOVES. And naturally, if you hit anything, it's game over and you have to start all over again. Hit up the Maze Frenzy site to give it a try. And check out the bottom of the page, because there's a link to an even HARDER maze. Due to my crappy wireless mouse and extremely shaky hands, I can't play it. But I'm sure there are lots of people out there that can just destroy this game. :) Just turn your volume down or the stupid music will drill itself into your brain.
Dr. Rudy - A DOS based Dr. Mario clone.
A pretty much exact clone of Dr. Mario that was released in 1991 for the PC. The neat thing about it is that you can run it in VGA mode, EGA, CGA and even text based. The guy who made it (the page can still be found here) kept getting registrations for the damned thing all the way up to 1998, and the only thing crippled in the shareware version is the fact you can't play multiplayer. So that's a testament to it. :) Hit the jump for a couple more screenshots (one showing off the surprisingly good text mode of the game) and a download
