What Microsoft should do to make me care about their music store.
Now this is just speaking for me in specific, although I'm sure a lot of people would agree with this.
I have a 30GB 5th generation iPod video. That's what I use to listen to all my MP3s and podcasts. I could really care less about the music store because I'm not a big fan of DRM. Yes, I am aware that they have DRM free downloads for a little bit more, but I don't really care.
On the same note, Microsoft's Zune marketplace has a plan where you play one amount per month I think it is and download all the MP3s you want. I'm sure they're DRMed as well, but still. But I don't have a Zune. I don't even want a Zune. Don't give a shit.
Add the Zune Marketplace to the Xbox 360. I would pay that monthly fee to be able to download the music to my 360 and play it whenever I want. I would even shell out the money for the 120GB hard drive. Right now, I only have the 20GB hard drive that's got about 8GB free on it and a 512MB memory card that my Xbox Live profile sits on to make it easier to travel with it.
That Zune hasn't even made a DENT in Apple's iPod, and it never will because no one gives a shit. Why they even made the thing is beyond all reasoning with me. They should've known right off the bat that people just weren't going to care. So ditch the Zune and make that music marketplace accessible with the 360.
Me personally, I would sign up for that in a heartbeat. SoĀ long as they don't use the stupid MS points and make it payable with real money. :)
