Killzone : Liberation DLC
I just recently got a PSP and this game, and learned that there was some very important DLC that was released for it … namely adding entirely chapter to the story mode as well as online multiplayer. You’re SUPPOSED to be able to get it from Killzone.com … but it appears that site only seems to want to concentrate on the newest game that’s out. So the DLC isn’t available for download anymore. So I did a little hunting and found a Mediafire link for it … but let’s be honest. Who wants to use Mediafire?
Here’s the demo to give you a little taste since it isn’t actually in the Playstation Store. Just decompress it to your memory stick and you’re good to go.

What you will find here are the files to update the game. This is NOT the full game, and it won’t do you any good unless you already own the game. If you want the full game … you can snag it at Gamestop for 10 bucks. Or maybe even cheaper other places. Trust me, it’s worth it. Even to this day it’s one of the best shooters for the PSP. You can download the update right here. I don’t believe I’m violating any kind of copyright in making this available. And there are still some people who play it online, I just want to aid in making that number bigger because this really is a great game. And bear in mind, this update is for the full version of the game. Not the demo.
Killzone : Liberation Chapter 5 and Online Play Update – 77MB
Now for the instructions. You need to get the directory onto your memory stick by either just putting it into your computer or hooking your system up via USB. Either way, it doesn’t matter. Go into the PSP directory, then the GAME directory. Copy the directory here. I shouldn’t have to tell you to make sure you have enough space. Now go in and start the game. You’ll see a “Downloads” option, start that up. After a bit you’ll get an “Out of memory” error, don’t worry about it. Just hit the circle button to back out, then back out of the browser. You’ll come across an install screen, and it’ll install the DLC. There you go, all done.

Game Review–Modern Combat : Domination for the Playstation 3
Ah Gameloft … how I know thee from the days I had my iPod Touch. When I saw that this was coming to the Playstation 3 at a mere 8 dollars, I knew I was in. Even though I was in the mindset that I didn’t particularly like modern first person shooters (I found out later it was just Call of Duty I didn’t like) … I was willing to give this game a shot. And while it does have it’s severe flaws, it’s still a surprisingly good game.
My history with the Atari 2600
When I get bored of a particular console, I tend to go back in time. That, and I have a rather extreme form of ADD so I’m CONSTANTLY picking up new games and gadgets. As I’ve said before, I’m on a PS2 kick. But then I got this little device. It’s the Atari Flashback 2. Now I’m not going to get into the hardware itself too much just because it’s been out for a while, and if you’re reading this you already know what it is. For those of you who don’t know, this thing is basically a reproduction Atari 2600 sans the cartridge slot (which can be added by someone who is comfortable with a soldering iron). It’s about 2/3 the size of the original system, and instead of switches for things like the power and reset, it has big ugly orange buttons … which is my only big beef with it.
Do you ever wonder what you may have missed in the previous generation of consoles?
I always wonder that … so I’ve been on a Playstation 2 kick lately. It WOULD be the Xbox … except mine isn’t so much an Xbox anymore so much as it is an emulation/homebrew machine. And add on to the fact that damn DVD tray won’t open anymore for some reason. Yeah yeah, I know that’s easily fixed but I’m just too lazy to do it. The damn thing is basically an underpowered PC in a big, ugly, heavy black box anyway. And the Gamecube … honestly those games are a bit harder to get than PS2 games in my area, so I’m also going to leave that out. I’m just speaking me personally here, but you can say the same thing about any of the previous generation systems really. Just with the Gamecube being a somewhat smaller one because not everything came out for that for some reason.
Changing gaming habits and old systems.
Are you the type of person who’s gaming habits constantly change? Maybe sometimes you play nothing but first person shooters for however long and then find yourself wanting to play an old school top down RPG. Or maybe you jump from system to system like I do. When you’re in a position like me and have lots and lots of choices … you tend to jump around. I have at LEAST 7 computers in this house of varying degrees of usefulness with literally thousands of games, an NES, a Retro Duo (a review of which is elsewhere on this site), Sega Genesis, 32X, various versions of the old Game Boy. A few PS1’s, a few Dreamcasts, a friggin’ Atari Lynx, a Playstation 2 and a ton and a half of those cheesy little Play and Play TV games … although I feel a little guilty not having the Atari Flashback 2 … my 29th birthday is soon. Bear that in mind. ;) And that’s not even all of them.
A new NBA Jam game coming to the Wii has me a little worried.
See that screenshot there? Those are my memories of NBA Jam … just insanely fast paced 2 on 2 basketball that I would play the shit out of in the arcade. Sometime this year there’s going to be one coming to the Wii. As one may fear, it supports motion control. But from what I read on Kotaku, you can also turn the remote sideways and just use the directional pad and use it as … well … a real controller.
I don’t play many sports games, after a 20 year hiatus I finally picked up a baseball game (The Bigs for the PS2 and The Bigs 2 for the 360 if you’re wondering). But I do like to play the arcadey titles. And NBA Jam definitely fits into that. I STILL own both the original and Tournament Edition for the Sega Genesis, and I still pop them in from time to time to see those tiny, grainy graphics and muffled grainy voices. But since Tournament Edition, the series hasn’t just gone down hill … it’s plummeted face first into a bed of spikes.
